I was born while my family lived in St. Paul Nebraska. I have one sister, Leah, who is a year older than I am. We moved to Kearney when I was 12 years old. In high school my life was four-part between the tennis team, baseball, band, and youth group. By the time I was 16 I thought I was destined to become either a band teacher or a professional trombone player. Many doors were open to me in that sphere but every time I tried walking through, God shut them. Eventually it became clear that His call for my life was to go into ministry. He took me to Moody Bible Institute in Chicago where I received my Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees for Pastoral/Congregational Leadership. I lived in Chicago for 5 years and in the middle of that time, my girlfriend Ginny (Virginia) graduated from UNMC in Kearney, became a nurse, and we were married in 2013. After graduating from Moody we came to GI Free for my job as youth pastor. We now have three kids, Oakley, Evelyn and Elsie.
